ArtsUnited Features Painter Pepe Tortosa in August
ArtsUnited will feature paintings by local artist Pepe Tortosa in a solo exhibit at the Stonewall Library and Archives from August 7 through 31, 2006. The exhibit opens with a reception to meet the artist on Monday, August 7 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The Stonewall Library and Archives is located at 1717 N. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
Pepe Tortosa is an architect and an artist, and studied at Facultad de Arquitestura y Urbanismo U.C.V. and Cristobal Rojas School of Art in Caracas, Venezuela. Tortosa contributed to the interior design of the Venezuela Public Library System and exhibited murals throughout the National Library facilities. He has been exhibiting his work in South Florida since early 2000, including: The Absolut Street Exhibition in Miami Beach in 2000, Encuentro de Arte Latinoamericano in Miami in 2001, Hatman Gallery in Coral Gables in 2004, International Art Exhibition in Miami Beach in 2004, and with ArtsUnited and ArtServe for several years.
