ArtsUnited Features Artist Jose Arce at Stork's
ArtsUnited is featuring the photography of Jose Arce, Jr. in a solo exhibit from June 3 through 30, 2006 at Stork's Bakery Coffee Cafe, 2505 NE 15th Avenue in Wilton Manors. The exhibit is free to the general public.
Born in Chicago and having moved to Florida at the age of nine, Jose Arce has been passionate about art since he was a child. He was an avid artist is middle and high school experimenting in a variety of mediums. He studied Graphic Design at Palm Beach Community College before earning his Associates Degree in Computer Animation from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. At the Institute, Jose received an award for "Best Print Portfolio".
"When I came out at the age of 26, I felt free inside and through my art. I created my art to show gay characters in photographic background. I want to known as a gay artist in our community. I hope to inspire young gay artists to come out and show their work. "
