ArtsUnited Features Painter Allen Freshler in Solo Exhibit

ArtsUnited will feature the paintings of Allen Freshler in a solo exhibit at the Stonewall Library and Archives from March 6 through 31, 2006. The Stonewall Library and Archives is located at 1717 North Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

Allen Freshler is a contemporary artist residing in both Connecticut and Florida. He is a member of the West Hartford Art League, Whittenbury Art League, a Bonnet House Artist (Fort Lauderdale) and a Mattatuck Museum Artist Associate (Waterbury, CT).

Mr. Freshler has studied at the Fenchin Art Workshop, Taos, NM and trained under John Budicin, Sergio Ruffo and Caleb Stone of the Copley Society, Boston, the later on Monhegan Island, Me. Allen also studied with David Lussier and Pamala Simpson of Woodstock, CT.

Allen Freshler's work has been featured on public television in Springfield, MA and Hartford, CT. He has been juried selected for a number of shows and has had several one man exhibits. He was selected to paint "live" in the world famous Clark Museum, Williamstown, MA in June of 2006.

Freshler's oil paintings are a kin to the 19th and early 20th Century painters. His approach is traditional using preparations and techniques on canvas similar to earlier periods. His work can be found in many private and public collections including a series of bicentennial paintings for the Town of Hinsdale, MA completed in 2005. He is represented by LaFalce-Freshler Fine Art, Canton, CT, The Brick Gallery, Essex and Madison, CT and the Webber Gallery, LakeWorth, FL.

The exhibit will open with a reception to meet the artist on March 6th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Refreshments will be served, and admission is free to the public. For more information, call ArtsUnited at 954-530-2723.
