Arts united is pleased to feature the paintings of Orlando artist Cheryl Turner in a solo exhibit at the Stonewall Library and Archives from October 1 through 31, 2007. The gallery is located at 1717 N. Andrews Avenue in Ft Lauderdale. The exhibit opens with a reception to meet the artist from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on Monday, October 1st.
Born in an Air Force Base Hospital, Cheryl moved often during her childhood. Even as an adolescent, she was sketching the activity around her. At 18, she packed her bags and headed to Orland where Disney was about to open its doors. the gamble paid off and she enjoyed an exciting career as a sculptor, mold and model maker, and the ultimate position, Imagineering for Disney.
Although she approaches her work with playfulness and whimsy, Cheryl's painting express a rainbow of emotions: love, loneliness, passion, fear, pain, as well as a devoted commitment to love.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the reception. Funding for this art series is provided by Comcast and ArtsUnited.
