ArtsUnited Features Eve McBride in Solo Exhibit
ArtsUnited will present the mixed media art work of local artist Eve McBride in a solo exhibit at the Stonewall Library and Archives from July 2 through August 3, 2007. The exhibit opens with a reception to meet the artist on Monday, July 2 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. The library is located at 1717 N. Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
A native Floridian, Eve McBride has had a love for creating art since an early age. Sketching, drawing and experimenting with a variety of media, Eve's whimsical art was a source of comfort during a difficult childhood. She began a love of photography at the age of eight, and that love has developed into a source of inspiration for her art today.
Ms. McBride put her painting on hold to raise a family, but began eagerly pursuing it again after her children were grown. Eve returned to school in 1997, and earned two degrees from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. At the Institute, she learned to put her art on the computer and now includes digitally rendered art in her repertoire.
Eve's ultimate goal is to own her own shop where she can sell her paintings, photographs and whimsically painted wood tables while surrounded by creative minds. Her motto is "Every day is fabulous." This optimistic spirit is evident in her work.
The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Funding for this art series has been provided in part by Comcast. For more information about ArtsUnited, go online to http://artsunitedonline.org.
