February 1-29 Woodcutting Artist Elizabeth Jurado is the artist of the month at The Firm Gym, at 928 N. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Jurado recently won an Artist Enhancement Grant from the State of Florida to purchase an Etching Press. Her new series of linoleum prints will be on display through the month. February 4 The opening reception for ArtsUnited’s Artist of the Month, Sip Tshun NG, will be held 6:30-8pm. Come meet the artist and enjoy complimentary refreshments. February 28 - March 22 “Confessions of a Mormon Boy” presented by Rising Action Theatre. This autobiographical one-man play by Steven Fales tells the story of one man’s descent from the perfect Mormon husband into the gay underworld of drugs and escorting. February 29 ArtsUnited, The City of Wilton Manors, and Friends of the Wilton Manors Library unveil the mural “Window to the Imagination” by artist Mark Vose, at 6:30pm at the Richard C. Sullivan Public Library of Wilton Manors. The library mural will be the first of many murals envisioned throughout the community as part of the Eleven Bridges Mural Project launched by ArtsUnited last year. Funded in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council, the mural celebrates the Library 50th anniversary.
